Applesauce

I am attempting something that is a little old fashioned today.  I am canning applesauce.  I remember my Mom doing it when I was a kid, I even remember helping grind the apples in the food mill.  I picked up that food mill this morning, funny, it's a lot smaller than I remember it... and now we are well on our way to some good old fashioned applesauce.

And since it's kind of an old fashioned theme today, I will add a picture of some relatives of mine.  This is my Great-Great Grandparents taken in 1911... Wow, how is that for old!

This is Teuntje Van Haaren & Lucas Vlaardingerbroek.  No I am not Dutch...  Aren't they handsome though??!!  I bet she made applesauce.
