Wanted to give a quick update on Tim and Melissa. They were under forced evacuation, so they packed up and went to go stay with Melissa's sister and brother-in-law, who live about 8 blocks NW of where Tim and Melissa live. Currently they are without power, but are doing fine.
Tim and Melissa were able to make it back to their apartment today. Their building had 4-6ft of water in the lobby with water damage all the way up to the 6th floor. Thankfully they live on the 20th floor and their stuff is fine. They have been told that it will be at least 2 weeks before they will be able to move back to their apartment.
In Tim's words.... "This morning there were clothes, mannequins, and shoes all over the street from the stores. Most seaport stores and restaurants are completely destroyed. There is a thick film of oil and gas on everything in the neighborhood and a heavy stench in the air. This is apparently from all the underground parking structures."
We are so thankful that Tim and Melissa made it through "The Storm of the Century" without incident. However my sister-in-law Nadia has family that lives 3 blocks from the ocean in Queens. Nadia has yet to be able to contact any of her family. Please keep them in your prayers. We know they didn't evacuate from their home before the storm.
